Dental Implants in Turkey
Turkey has become one of the most-searched destinations for dental implants because the price gap with Western Europe is large and the clinical standard at authorised clinics is high. This page sets out the real 2026 costs, the treatment timeline for someone flying in, and the checks that separate a safe clinic from a risky one.
From €350 per implant
Why patients travel to Turkey for implants
A single implant that costs €1,800–3,000 in Germany, the Netherlands or Scandinavia typically starts around €350 at an authorised Antalya clinic — even after flights and a hotel, the total is usually a fraction of treating at home. Turkey also concentrates high case volumes, so surgeons here place implants daily rather than weekly.
What dental implants cost in Turkey in 2026
At Tantalya, implants start at €350 per implant for Turkish-origin systems and rise with premium brands (Swiss and Straumann lines run higher, and zygomatic anchorage for severe bone loss is a separate surgical price). The crown on top, any bone graft and sinus lifting are priced separately, so a transparent written plan matters more than a single headline number.
Your treatment timeline as an international patient
Standard implants are usually placed in one trip of 3–5 days; the permanent crown follows after osseointegration, either on a short second visit or shipped to your local dentist for fitting. Full-arch and grafted cases need careful staging, which we plan from your CT scan before you book a flight.
Choosing a safe, authorised clinic
Turkey regulates medical tourism: ask for the clinic's Ministry of Health International Health Tourism authorisation number, the implant brand and its certificate, and a written guarantee. Tantalya holds authorisation ST-2095 and works only with traceable, certified implant systems.
Who is a candidate — and who we turn away
Healthy or treated gums, enough bone or a site that can be grafted, and general health that allows minor surgery. Well-controlled diabetes is fine; uncontrolled diabetes, active gum disease and heavy smoking raise the risk enough that we treat them first or advise against implants, and some bone medications need a medical review. We say no more often than a volume clinic would — a fixture placed into the wrong conditions is a failure with your name on it, not a sale.
Itemised implant prices in Turkey (2026)
A finished implant tooth is three parts — fixture, abutment, crown — and an honest plan prices each one. Published 2026 figures in euro; sterling indicative at 0.86 £ per euro.
| Component | Price (EUR) | ≈ £ (indicative) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Implant fixture · Turkish-origin certified system | €350 per implant | ≈ £300 | CE-certified; brand, size and lot number recorded in your implant passport |
| Implant fixture · premium Swiss / Straumann | up to about €1,500 per implant | ≈ £1,290 | Where bone, site or preference calls for it; named in the plan |
| Abutment (connector) | its own line in the written plan | — | Never folded into a headline number |
| Zirconia crown on the implant | €150–300 per crown | ≈ £130–260 | In-house laboratory; 5-year written guarantee |
| Finished single implant tooth, Turkish-origin system | typically €500–800 | ≈ £430–690 | Set against a UK private quote of about €2,300–2,900 |
Quotes are issued in EUR. Flights and hotel are yours; the clinic arranges airport transfers.
Add-ons your CBCT may reveal
The per-implant price assumes a healthy site with enough bone. Anything extra is written into the plan before you book a flight, not discovered in the chair.
| Scenario | Price | Effect on your trip |
|---|---|---|
| Bone graft | quoted per case after CBCT | Healing stage of typically 4–6 months before the implant; your surgeon decides |
| Sinus lift (upper back teeth) | quoted per case after CBCT | Often staged first; milder cases sometimes in the same surgery |
| Extraction of a failing tooth | quoted per case after CBCT | Same trip; immediate placement when the socket is free of infection |
| Temporary prosthesis | quoted per case after CBCT | Fitted before you fly so you are never without a front tooth |
| Zygomatic anchorage (severe upper bone loss) | separate surgical price, quoted per case | Assessed by our oral surgeon from the CBCT before you travel |
Your implant trip, day by day
Most cases fit one trip of 3–5 days; your surgeon adjusts the week to your scan and to how you heal.
- Day 1 Arrival, CBCT, consultation
Transfer to Konyaaltı, CBCT and photographs. The plan is checked against the live scan and signed, with the guarantee, before anything starts.
- Day 2 Surgery
Placement under local anaesthesia, sedation if agreed in advance; a single implant usually takes under an hour. Back to the hotel with written instructions and medication.
- Day 3 Rest and check
Swelling usually peaks around now; the site is checked and medication adjusted if needed.
- Day 4 Review
Healing reviewed, any temporary tooth checked; shipped crown or short second visit decided with you.
- Day 5 Fly home
Final check and records pack. Sutures usually come out on day 7–10, at home or over a photo review.
- Month 3–6, typically Permanent crown
After osseointegration — typically 3–6 months, your dentist decides — the zirconia crown is fitted on a second visit of about 3–5 days, or shipped to your home dentist.
Grafted and sinus-lift cases add a healing stage, typically 4–6 months, before placement.
Your written guarantee
| Item | Duration | Covered | Not covered / voids |
|---|---|---|---|
| Implant fixture | Manufacturer's lifetime guarantee, registered to you | Fixture failure under the manufacturer's terms | Smoking-related peri-implantitis is treated but is not a material failure |
| Zirconia crown | 5-year Tantalya written guarantee | Material failure — repaired or re-made at Tantalya | Accidental trauma; untreated bruxism without the prescribed night guard; missed annual check-ups |
| E.max restorations | 5-year Tantalya written guarantee | Material failure; repair or re-manufacture | Periodontal neglect or hygiene instructions not followed; alteration by another dentist without prior written agreement |
| Composite | No long guarantee claim — repairable | Repairs quoted per case | As above |
Issued in writing in your treatment file before treatment starts; travel for any remedy is the patient's.
If an implant fails after you fly home
It is uncommon — published ten-year survival is around 96% — but the process is written down. Step one: send photographs, and a recent X-ray if you have one, to your coordinator on WhatsApp. Step two: your treating dentist reviews them within the week and replies in writing with a diagnosis and a route.
Step three: a guarantee case — a fixture that has not integrated, or a crown with a material fault — is re-treated at Tantalya at no treatment charge; travel is yours. Step four: if you need urgent local care first, your full records are released the same day so a dentist near you can act. Third-party fees are not covered unless agreed in writing beforehand.
Aftercare for life
Written, not verbal — and it does not end at the airport.
- Written aftercare protocol at departure: hygiene routine, diet for the first weeks, night guard if prescribed.
- Clinic reachable throughout the trip and afterwards; healing photographs reviewed remotely by your treating dentist.
- Annual digital check-up: photographs or a short video from you, or an intra-oral scan from a local dentist, reviewed and answered in writing. Missing it voids the guarantee.
- Records pack: implant passport (brand, diameter, length, lot), CBCT and X-rays, itemised invoice, treatment plan PDF.
- No smoking during integration if you possibly can — the largest modifiable risk for peri-implantitis.
Complication rates — the published evidence
Population averages from peer-reviewed studies; your own risk depends on bone, health and hygiene.
What the literature reports
| Outcome | Rate | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Implant survival at 10 years | ≈ 96% | Howe et al., J Dent 2019 |
| Implant survival at 20 years (prospective data) | ≈ 92% | Kupka et al., Clin Oral Investig 2024 |
| Zirconia crown survival on implants at 5 years | ≈ 97–98% | Pjetursson et al., Clin Oral Implants Res 2018 |
| Immediate versus conventional loading of single implants | Equal survival when primary stability is adequate | Benic et al., Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants 2014 |
Tantalya is responsible for the clinical work and the written guarantee; the manufacturer for the fixture under its warranty; you for hygiene, check-ups and the prescribed night guard. As a Ministry-authorised provider (ST-2095) the clinic is subject to Turkish patient-rights law and Ministry inspection, and disputes can be raised with the Ministry of Health's International Health Tourism unit.
For UK patients
The NHS does not fund implants, so the choice is between private treatment at home and private treatment abroad. A single implant tooth from a UK private practice is about €2,300–2,900 (≈ £1,980–2,490); the same tooth on a Turkish-origin system at Tantalya is typically €500–800 (≈ £430–690). Direct flights take about 4–4.5 hours.
The General Dental Council regulates dentists in the UK only; its advice for treatment abroad — a written plan, a named clinician, an aftercare path — is exactly what we hand over. Tantalya's equivalents: dentists licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health and registered with the Turkish Dental Association, clinic authorisation ST-2095, CE/ISO certification, an ITI-member lead dentist, and a written plan and guarantee in English.
- NHS: implants and cosmetic work are not funded
- UK private ≈ €2,300–2,900 per implant tooth · Tantalya typically €500–800 (≈ £430–690, rate indicative)
- GDC checklist: written plan · named clinician · aftercare path · guarantee in English
- Records pack and implant passport so your UK dentist keeps you on their books
