What Invisalign is — and why aligners instead of braces
Invisalign is the original clear-aligner system: a sequence of thin, transparent trays, each moving your teeth a small step further, worn around 22 hours a day and swapped roughly every one to two weeks. Nothing is bonded permanently to the front of your teeth, you take the aligners out to eat and to brush, and most people around you will not notice them. For adults who want straighter teeth without the look of metal braces, it is usually the first option we discuss — provided the case is suitable for aligners, which the scan tells us.
Simple, moderate or complex — how we grade your case
After the CBCT scan and the digital impression, your dentist grades the case. A simple case — mild crowding, small gaps, slight rotations — typically needs around 25 aligners and about 6 months. A moderate case usually needs around 35 aligners and about 12 months. A complex case, with larger movements or bite correction, usually needs around 45 aligners and about 18 months. These are typical ranges, not promises: the number of aligners and the duration are set by your dentist from the scan, and the final plan is shown to you before anything is manufactured.
Two visits to Antalya, the rest from home
First visit, 2 nights: CBCT scan, digital impression, clinical examination and the treatment plan. Once you approve the plan, your aligner series is produced. At home: you change the aligners on the schedule your dentist sets and stay in touch with the clinic — your dentist follows your progress remotely and tells you when to move on or when something needs a closer look. Final visit, 2 nights, at the end of the series: your dentist checks the result, finishes any detailing and discusses how to keep your teeth where they are. You do not fly to Antalya every few weeks.
What Invisalign costs in Turkey
We do not publish a single Invisalign price, because the cost depends on the case grade — simple, moderate or complex — and that can only be set after the CBCT scan. What you get instead is a written, itemised quote in euros after the scan, covering the aligner series, the planning, both visits and the remote follow-up. Flights are not included; airport transfers are arranged by the clinic. Because the quote is itemised, you can compare it line by line with the quote from your dentist at home.
Why we start with a CBCT scan
A photo shows where your teeth are; it does not show the roots, the bone around them or the position of the jaws. Moving teeth safely depends on exactly those things. The CBCT scan — a three-dimensional X-ray taken in the clinic — lets your dentist see whether the planned movements are possible, whether anything needs treating first, and which case grade is honest for you. That is why we quote after the scan and not before.
Your dentist, not a call centre
Every dentist at Tantalya provides Invisalign treatment, and one dentist follows your case from the first scan to the final check — the same person reads your progress updates from home. How many times do I need to travel to Antalya?
Twice. The first visit, 2 nights, is for the scan, the impression and the treatment plan. The final visit, 2 nights, is at the end of the series for the finishing check. Everything in between happens at home with remote follow-up by your dentist.
How is my treatment monitored while I am at home?
You stay in contact with the clinic as you change your aligners, and your dentist reviews your progress remotely. If something does not look right — a tray that will not seat, a tooth that is not tracking — your dentist decides the next step before you move on.
Is it genuine Invisalign?
Yes. We treat with Invisalign aligners, planned by your Tantalya dentist on your CBCT scan and digital impression. If you are offered an unnamed generic aligner elsewhere, ask for the brand in writing.
Can complex cases be treated with aligners?
Many can — larger movements and bite correction usually fall into our complex grade, around 45 aligners over roughly 18 months. Some cases are better served by another approach, and the scan is what tells us. Your dentist will say so honestly rather than fit a case to aligners that do not suit it.
What happens if an aligner breaks or does not fit?
Contact your patient consultant with a photo. Your dentist decides whether you continue with the next aligner, go back to the previous one for a few days or need a replacement — you are never left to guess.
Who will treat me?
